"Since 1971, the year we married, our hobbies have been the following: to cook, to go for a walk on the Langhe, to pick wild herbs with which preparing the same soup or the same omelette which reminded us of our grandmothers' cooking. We strolled among the hills and we met common people and old ladies who handed down the memory of a old-fashioned cooking (like the old ballades without a composer). 

Here at "Contea's", we tried to reproduce the recipes of our forefathers. We believe that the tradition and the use of genuine staple foodstuffs represent an important element to hand down from father to son. This shows that a simple, rural but also refined cooking is a mark of good quality. From the lessons of Langhe, we learned that generations of wonderful, working people, even in their poverty, could eat well, much better than other people. We learned to hear their message. It is in the woods, blowing in the wind. It is in the crackling of the fireplace in the kitchen. This message bring us friendship and gluttony, two things that make life wiser and nicer."

In the quiet and refined rooms of an old country house, you can find "Contea's" tables. 
We prepare local, Piedmontese meals with an old and delicious taste. You can also have lunch in the open air, in the stone garden among the flowers. 

You can sleep in beautiful bedrooms with a "Old Piedmont" atmosphere. 

During these years, the owners worked hardly to refine their knowledge and to find the best wines for "Contea's". With pride they can now show the produce of their vineyards.
