AZZURRA RESTAURANT

This
month's route is dedicated to one of the best
restaurants of the Adriatic coast.
In
a few years "Azzurra" restaurant has
conquered the heart (and tastes) of so many customers and numerous acknowledgments from the
press. Merit of the charming position, of the sage
management and - of course - of the excellent fish and
seafood cooking.
"Azzurra"
is right in the center of Riccione, next to the crowded
Ceccarini tree-lined avenue, and it looks directly on
the sea with an astounding view. Maurizio Signorini,
owner of the restaurant, has been able to create a real
'temple' of good eating, a place where gourmet lovers
usually go and where is easy to meet famous
people.

At
the beginning, about 10 years ago, it was just a simple
tavern, but Maurizio has worked hard to improve
the atmosphere, the kitchen, the hospitality, until
making it become what it is today: an excellent restaurant.
In
spite of all this, it has mantained its semplicity; the service is quick and accurate, the
people friendly. You will be guided to taste the "house
specialities" and the right wine, always with a
smile. The wine cellar counts approximately 500 fine
wines and champagnes. You can order little mixed tastes
or let yourself be guided to the discovery of new dishes.
Fish and sea food is the
most obvious choice. Fish is always fresh, and is kept
alive in large aquariums at the entrance. The chef's
creativity is never ending.
Some
dishes to suggest? The Mediterranean
Bass, the Soufflè of whitebaits covered
with zucchini covered, the marinade of giant squid , the
'passatelli' (a hand-made pasta shape) with fillet of
sole, the spaghetti with sea-food sauce, the prawn
and white asparagus risotto. And these are only
a few among the many specialties of the Azzurra
restaurant. If you happen to be nerby, it is really,
really worth a dinner!
