The Malpassuti Inn is located in the ancient centre of Carbonara Scrivia, just a few steps from the 13th c. fortress given by Baron Guidobono Cavalchini Garolfi to the municipality.
After five kilometres on the road from Tortona, you reach the Inn surrounded by a gentle hilly countryside.
The manor-house dating back to the end of the 18th c. belonged to the poet Malpassuti. Today, it has been restored and modified to become a Restaurant, with a wonderful garden with century-old trees, where meetings and congresses can be held.
In summer, it’s a pleasure to have lunch in the open air garden, while in winter the food is served in little rooms heated by the fireplace and decorated with antique furniture. In autumn, this Inn is the best place for gourmets to eat mushrooms and white truffles, while black truffles are available through the rest of the year.
The Marenzana Family is the owner and manager of the Inn.. Together with the cook Carluccio, they keep a long cooking tradition, based on traditional recipes, but serving a large variety of delicious menus.
Food and wine is personally served by Marinella, creating a welcoming atmosphere to make you feel totally home.
A pleasant extra can often be found under the antique "portico": vintage cars, belonging to the owner.
Crossing Valle Ossona, at about 8 kilometers, you can visit the Castellania Mausoleum, the birth home of Fausto e Serse Coppi, great cycling champions.
The trip merit a visit and a break for lunch; it is reccommended that you book in advance to insure the freshiest products.
