Up until a few years ago, it was thought that a restaurant like La Frasca could only be found in France where, thanks to tradition and inborn good taste, some "Auberges" have been opened which are rightly renowned and frequented by gourmets from all over the world.

But La Frasca is in the heart of Romagna, in a corner of Castrocaro Terme which is centrally situated but nevertheless secluded, with a handy tree-shaded car-park and a delightful, green terrace for eating outdoors during the summer.

La Frasca is a sophisticated, marvellously romantic haven, with cozy little rooms, impeccable service, a fantastically stocked wine cellar and top quality, fresh cooking offering a perfect balance between modern and traditional fare.

La Frasca seems to become even more beautiful each time; Bruna and Gianfranco Bolognesi built it from scratch, stone, with sure taste and an extraordinarily admirable ability to make the right choices. The widely-spaced round tables are surrounded by a beautiful antique wooden frieze, valuable paintings on the walls, warm appliqués, cascades of.flowers and little windows surrounded by creepers. Not to mention the silver cutlery crystal glasses, beautiful Faenza ceramic place-markers, impeccable table linen, stemmed ice-buckets, white candles...

GIANFRANCO BOLOGNESI

Gianfranco Bolognesi is an exceptional sommelier and great expert of wines from all over the world, which helps him to suggest exciting discoveries among the wines from his Romagna home: trickles of nectar and ambrosia as well as rivers of dignified table wines.

He first became known as a sommelier and many still consider him as such, since he was Italy's No. 1, even if in fact this restaurant activity prevails today, as can be well seen by the exceptional level which La Frasca has reached thanks to him.
