Sestri Levante is on the Italian Riviera, south of Portofino and the Villa Balbi
was built as a summer palace in the 17th century. The hotel of today stands in a
secluded private park that contains magnificent old trees, overlooking the
spectacular Gulf of Tigullio.
The Villa has a graceful facade, flanked by tall
palm trees and the interior rooms are very elegant o tall pillars and soaring
arches reaching up to enchanting frescoed ceilings, brilliant chandeliers,
marble floors, antique pieces and comfortable chairs.

The charming bedrooms are peaceful, traditionally furnished and decorated in tranquil
colours, all having
lovely views over the water or the park.
There is a pleasant bar, but guests
often prefer their aperitifs on the outdoor verandah in front of the sea
promenade. Breakfast is also served here.
The Il Parco Restaurant specialises in
Ligurian dishes and fish straight from the sea. Fine Italian wines are listed.
