Once upon a time, in the XIVth century, there was a small village called Amorosa... we have turned the ancient stables into a restaurant; filled the old cellars with a careful selection of wines and placed guest rooms in the manor.
In this way the Locanda dell'Amorosa came into being, an oasis of country peace among the rolling Sienese hills that look down on the Chiana
Valley. The ideal sojourn in the heart of one of the most fascinating areas as to art, culture and landscape.
In the area around the Locanda dell'Amorosa are Siena, Arezzo, Perugia, the Val d'Orcia with Pienza, Montepulciano and Montalcino, the producers of the great Tuscan wines, superb extra virgin olive oil; the fascinating "clay hills" of Siena with San Giovanni d'Asso's precious white truffles.
LE
CAMERE
|

|
Each room has its own character and design. Rustic furniture of peasant origins is mixed with antique furniture, prints and paintings. Some, that open directly to the outdoors give the sense of having a place of one's own; others have a relaxing view of the typical Sienese countryside; yet other look out onto the complex's quadrangle and face the lodgings the peasants at one time
inhabited.
All of the rooms offer private
baths, refrigerators, satellite TV, externally accessible
telephones, air conditioning, and ample private parking.
|
In addition to the extensive garden maintained and reserved for the
guests'use, the hotel is surrounded by its own farmlands,
vineyards, olive orchards, woods, and well - cultivated plains of corn wheat and
sunflowers, rendering an ideal environment for walks in the
countryside.
IL
RISTORANTE
Which were once the stalls occupied by the typical white cattle of the valley, is now a rustic, elegant and cozy restaurant.
| During
restoration, great care was taken to respect the original design. The cuisine is inspired by regional
tradition, yet has been refined to suit modern Italian
tastes. Chef Francesco Sabbadini masterfully prepares regional Tuscan specialities intrinsic to the traditional cuisine that include salami from
Trequanda, home made pasta, Chianino beef, farm - grown
poultry, produce and herbs, cheeses from the Pienza hills, and home-made
desserts. The precious white truffles from the San Giovanni d'Asso "crete senesi" and the Extra Virgin Olive Oil "l'Olio di Podere" from Castelmuzio add the final touch to the flavor and aroma of typical Tuscan cuisine. |
 |
The wine list offers a variety of 130 different
labels, the majority of which are the only best Tuscan wines; but a vast number of selective wines from other regions are also
included. L'Amorosa also offers its very own, farm-cultivated
wines: Sangioveto del Borgo and Borgo Amorosa.
