What to do when you invite someone round, how to set the table, how to arrange the
seating.
A few simple rules for you to remember.
When are children included on the invitations list?
First of all, when the party is dedicated to them (Confirmation - Communion)
They are always eager to celebrate their birthday too, inviting their friends to their home to enjoy a party full of pizzas, cakes and fruit juices.
Children are not only admitted, but also eagerly invited to participate in all family celebrations. At Christmas time and at weddings, especially when they are pageboys, they are at the centre of
attention.
A guide to details to bear in mind in order to ensure a perfect party
During your child's birthday party it is important that the children have all the space that they need in order to be able to move around and play freely.
If you live in an apartment, it is a good idea to move the furniture in the living room and leave an empty space in the middle of the room. In this way, there is no danger that the children, while running around, might hit against the edge of a table or chair, causing injury. The risk of the furniture being ruined by stains from fizzy drinks or indeed scratches is also lessened.
When organising your child's birthday party, it is a good idea to bear some details in mind that may often be forgotten due to the frenzy involved in preparing for the party.
In the days leading up to the party, you might like to find out if it is another child's birthday on the same day, or indeed if some child celebrates their name day on that date. In such cases, it is a nice idea to present the child in question with a little gift or a nice surprise.
After having prepared all the invitations, ensuring that all the addresses are correct, to be sure you might like to quickly phone the other mums, at the same time finding out if their children need to be brought home after the party or if they suffer from any particular
allergies.
It is usually a good idea to advise the teacher of the party, in such a way as she can perhaps give the children less homework that day and the next morning ask them in class how the party
went.
Ask a friend, some other child's mother or indeed your sister if they could give you a hand that day. In this way it will be much easier to think about preparing snacks and cakes while someone else keeps an eye on the
kids.
In the evening, when the parents call to pick up their children, ask them if they would care to come in for a coffee. But while you are chatting, ensure that you don't hinder the children's games. It's their party after
all!
If some child is unable to attend because they are ill or for some other reason, perhaps your child could phone them, so as they won't feel left out!
