At the beginning of the 9th century important refurbishments took place in a pre-existent historical residence. The original structure of the building was fully transformed from a one floor private house with a loft, used as a lodging for the servants, to a high-class residence. While the large first floor was kept, the garret was transformed into a second floor with three apartments to be rented to middle class people.

“Il Respiro del Tempo” (literally The Breath of Time) is open all year round. In every season it offers exclusive features, thanks to the mild climate of the Ligurian Riviera. The mildness of the winter months, the profusion of flowers in Spring time, the nearness to the sea and the wide beaches of the Ligurian coastline makes it an ideal hide away for those who want to escape the fogs and mists of the cities. 

“Il Respiro del Tempo” boasts also a spacious Conference Room ideally suited for meetings, receptions, dinners and coffee-breaks; which we can organize with highly-qualified staff. 


It is the perfect setting for weddings, banquets and high-class functions. Wedding banquets, receptions and coffee breaks are thoughtfully planned with the greatest care for details. 

Our rooms have been the scenery to unforgettable ceremonies, photo reportages for models and for jewels exhibitions. On request we can provide wedding announcements and invitations portraying details or sceneries of our house.


Il Respiro del Tempo is a meeting place for sport enthusiasts. Many events and rendezvous with sport celebrities have taken place here. Motorcyclists coming form everywhere in Europe meet here. Groups of Ligurian skin-divers, who come to Savona to take advantage of the sporting facilities of this area, find here a useful base.
