In the countryside of the Marche
region, a few kilometres away from the sea, where the air of the Adriatic mingles with the sweet fragrance of the green
hills, there stands the ancient hamlet of Palazzo di Arcevia. |
 |
A stretch of age-old land, the fascination of which has remained intact and as genuine as the people who inhabit it and where the present is a reminder of the past. Here, Francescaromana Bartoletti decided to hold onto her father Italo’s estate, transforming it into the
“Azienda Agrituristica San Settimio Country Club”.
The Club has a large hunting lodge (the “Pavilion”), which houses the refined restaurant. Then it has a farm, stables and several farmhouses. These have been restructured in line with the original rural architecture and are pleasantly furnished, and they have now
been split up into flats and rooms providing a total of forty beds. The whole complex is surrounded by
four hundred hectares of hills, woods, clearings, olive-groves and vineyards as well as two small lakes, providing the ideal setting for wonderful
walks.
SLEEPING
In the Club you can find a hunting farmhouse (The
Pavilion) having 4 communicating twin rooms with bathroom which are suitable for 3-4-people families and one three-bed room.
From the Pavilion you can walk along the rolling "white roads" of the Club and reach the
Farm, where a small flat called "Le voliere" (The Aviaries) is located which is on the first floor and has a small living room equipped with kitchenette and two double rooms with
bathroom.
 |
In the field facing the swimming pool the "Casa del Paradiso" (The House of Paradise) is located, which is a wonderful little farmhouse made of stone that has been restructured; it has a living room equipped with a double day bed, fireplace, kitchen, two very well furnished double rooms with bathroom containing 4/6 sleeping accommodations in total.Next to the Main Master, in the big field facing the swimming pool, there is another flat called "La Padronalina" (The Little Main Master) having a small living room equipped with a double day bed, kitchen, a double room and a
bathroom.
Finally, there are two wonderful restructured farmhouses: "Casa Lago" (The Lake House) with three twin rooms and bathroom and "Casa Tobia" (Toby House) with two twin rooms and living room, kitchen and bathroom and two separate twin rooms with
bathroom. |
 |
Next to the Main House, still on the large lawn near the swimming pool, there is another small flat which has a small drawing-room with a double sofa bed, a kitchen, one double room and a bathroom. Lastly there are two wonderful refurbished country houses in the countryside. These have been split up into rooms and flats, for people who want a real taste of the
country.
WHAT
TO DO
| If you do not to spend all your holidays at the swimming pool, remember that the
Club’s horses are at your disposal for more or less lengthy rides with or without a guide, even including trekking or days out with
picnicking. We also provide riding lessons for beginners and stabling facilities for your own horses. There is an area near the swimming pool for archery and mountain bikes can be rented from the farm
for cycling along the sign-posted routes inside the reserve featuring marvellous “ups and
downs” throughout the 400 hectares of nature. Our tennis courts and five-man football field are at the disposal of the more energetic
guests. |
 |
It only takes half an hour from San Settimio to reach Senigallia, which
used to be called the “Velvet Beach”. This means that a stay at the Club can
include the particularly pleasant opportunity to spend days on the beach and others in the natural environment of the
hills. Other easily reached places are the Frasassi Caves (a natural monument of rare beauty), Arcevia, Fabriano,
Loreto (for pilgrimages to the basilica of the “Madonna Nera”), Assisi, Gubbio
and the Conero coastal area with Numana and Sirolo (golf links).
DINING
 |
At sunset, when the shadows first start to grow long and
after an intense day in the open air, San Settimio offers evenings
of fun, sharing emotions and experiences over a glass of good “Verdicchio” wine produced on the estate and the opportunity to taste the dishes prepared by the cooks with the mouth-watering
and tasty recipes based on the culinary tradition of the Marche
region, such as various starters, home-made pasta, game and delicious pastries. The cold cuts, the oil, the delicious freshly picked vegetables and the meat are produced by the farm according to organic-farming
methods. |
